Many men(young and old) blame modern females for the state of society today but, personally I blame men. Throughout history just about every civilization imposed severe restrictions on the rights, authority, and autonomy of women while teaching young girls what their roles were and what was expected of them. Then, in the last century, MEN gave women the right to vote, MEN allowed women to attain a myriad of previously unheard of rights(owning property, etc.), MEN allowed feminism(however) you define it) to flourish, MEN allowed no fault divorce to be implemented, MEN allowed women to enter the workforce en masse resulting in increased inflation and suppression of wages(in addition to more female freedoms and autonomy), and MEN allowed legislation to help single mother households receive government financial assistance. It was MEN that lacked the backbone and foresight to prevent the societal wasteland that we have today. It's like having a bunch of pet rattlesnakes in the house and then being surprised or pissed off when you get bitten. The problem with young men is they have no rite of passage so they grow up as perpetual children. When my son was 12 I told my father he needed a rite of passage which had to involve some physical pain or test of endurance. I was a single mom. My dad had my son row a boat 20+ miles along the coast. His hands were blistered and bloodied. We celebrated his success in doing this. He told me later that it was the best thing I ever did for him at 16 I made him the head of the household, he was involved in all decisions. im 41, I'm not the best looking, I don't make a ton of money. I met my wife in a bar at kareoke night 10 years ago. We just had our first child last year. Go out, talk to women (it's how you get better at talking to women), and ask them to dinner and a movie. You'd be surprised how easy it is. You're not being brave blaming society for why you live with your parents as an adult. Stop being lazy. Dating is a contact sport, meaning the more women you contact (talk to in real life) the better you will do.

There is a lot of good stuff here. ...but I do see things a bit differently. As far as the land, having a stake in the game to preceed concern. People have a basic need to have a sense of control over the things in their life. They have a need for a social group to belong to. They have a need for reciprocity in their actions, and they have a need to strive against something. Out of balance these forces can lead to the actions that put you at odds with one or more if these basic needs. The subsequent adversity then facilitates more action that brings us ever more out of balance. For example, not caring about the community farm. But the moral breakdown that manifested in not caring about the farm unless you have more of stake in it than seeing how good it is for the community is a failure of the systems designed to teach thise morals when we are younger, and a personal failure for those of us that are older, since we should be directing our need to strive against something to constructive ends. Self improvement being most paramount. Participation and self government. I agree. I also see the unwritten, but necessary, social contract. Virtue/virtue under god. Like it or not, religions have done a lot if good in the past. ...they have also done a lot of bad. If you need religion to be able to generate purpose and meaning in your life... Then do it. But continue to grow. Put that need to strive against something to constructive use. Frontiers is a good insight, but not quite what the root motivator is. The need to strive against something. Man, woman... Humans need to strive against something. Men do it one way, women another. The last thing... Do you realize that you called for a zero sum game at the end?
